CALCIUM HYDROXIDE SLURRY

Calcium hydroxide slurry is a suspension of calcium hydroxide in water. The product is a lime slurry which is free-flowing, and easy to pump. It is a highly effective, low cost alkali that is easy to utilize. Lime slurry can be used in a variety of industrial, municipal, and environmental applications, such as:

  • pH adjustment
  • Metals precipitation
  • Sludge stabilization
  • Lime softening
  • Odor control

Calcium hydroxide slurry is ready to use and easy to feed, monitor, and control. Storage and feed systems are simple, requiring an agitated tank or cone-bottom tank with recirculation. Typical problems with dry feed systems, such as bilged silos, or fugitive dust, are avoided with this slurry. In addition, costly slaker repairs or replacements are eliminated.

This alkali provides several environmental and safety advantages. Calcium hydroxide slurry is non-hazardous, simplifying transportation, storage, and handling. Both air permit requirements and potential injuries associated with dry chemical handling are eliminated.

Calcium hydroxide slurry is a low-cost source of hydroxide alkalinity. When compared to caustic soda, its stable pricing allows our customers to confidently establish and manage both short and long-term operating budgets.
